Helping Children Learn and Thrive After School

The Buladean Community Center is dedicated to strengthening the health, well-being, education, and resilience of northern Mitchell County through accessible programs and services that help community members thrive.

A NOW Grant from WNC Bridge Foundation is supporting the Buladean Braves After-School Learning & Family Support Program for the 2026–2027 school year. The program provides a safe, structured, and free after-school environment for local elementary-age students while supporting working families in this rural community.

Grant funding will help provide staffing, healthy snacks, educational and STEM supplies, and enrichment activities, ensuring children have opportunities to learn, build confidence, and thrive throughout the school year.

Students in the Buladean Braves After-School Program proudly display their artwork during an enrichment activity at the Buladean Community Center, where creativity, learning, and confidence-building come together after school.
