A Partnership for Safe and Stable Homes
When unexpected home repair needs arise, waiting for the next grant cycle isn’t always an option. Thanks to a new partnership with WNC Bridge Foundation, the Community Housing Coalition (CHC) of Madison County now has the flexibility to respond when urgent needs arise.
WNC Bridge Foundation awarded CHC a six-month pilot grant to support critical home repairs that are not related to Hurricane Helene recovery or covered by other funding sources. Unlike traditional grant funding, this partnership allows CHC to use the funds where the need is greatest, respond quickly to urgent situations, and combine the funding with other available resources to maximize its impact.
This pilot builds on a strong partnership that began in 2019, when WNC Bridge Foundation first invested in CHC’s efforts to expand home repair services for older adults in Madison County. Since then, the Foundation has continued to stand alongside CHC through the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Helene recovery, helping ensure local residents have safe, stable housing.
At WNC Bridge Foundation, we know that strong partnerships create stronger communities. By investing in flexible funding opportunities like this pilot, we’re helping local organizations respond to immediate needs while building healthier, more resilient communities across Western North Carolina.
