Funding Available for Septic System Repairs
North Carolina has received $22.5 million in federal funding to help property owners repair or replace damaged and failing septic systems in counties impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Property owners may qualify for assistance even if their septic system was not directly damaged by Hurricane Helene. Priority may be given to Helene-related damage, with repairs and replacements potentially beginning in early 2027.
Nonprofits serving homeowners are encouraged to share this resource with individuals and families who may need assistance.
