Tyra Goodman has worked at CarePartners Bereavement for the past ten years as a Bereavement Counselor and Clinical Social Worker. With Tyra’s helpful manner, it is no surprise she has been honored through CarePartners Foundation’s Caring Hands Program. “Thanks for helping my friends through difficult times. You made a huge difference!” was the note included along with the gift honoring Tyra for her dedicated work as a CarePartners staff member.
Tyra provides individual counseling, group counseling, and educational support to the community. When asked what she likes most about her job Tyra notes, “the work itself is exceptionally rewarding. Folks who seek services with us are in such deep emotional pain, yet they also demonstrate incredible courage and resilience. Although I cannot change the circumstances that brought the person into grief, I can use my skills and experience to help soften some of the sharp edges of the experience, and help the griever navigate life going forward.” Tyra also states being able to work with an amazing team of dedicated and skilled counselors and music therapists in the Bereavement program makes coming to work a joy.
Caring Hands honorees are acknowledged by the foundation with a custom designed Caring Hands lapel pin that they can wear at work and a certificate of appreciation. This fall we will be honoring all recipients from fiscal year 2018 with a recognition ceremony and breakfast.
